WinRAR, which is a must for many computers today, has released its new version today. Version 5.80 brought many changes and corrections.
The new version of WinRAR, developed by RARLAB and now available on many computers, has been released today. The released version of WinRAR 5.80 is available to WinRAR users on Windows, Linux, MacOS X and Android platforms.
The new version of WinRAR 5.80 brings many changes. The release notes issued by RARLAB included 20 changes and improvements, and many bugs have been fixed. Let’s take a quick look at what WinRAR version 5.80 offers:
What’s new in WinRAR 5.80:
RAR is WinRAR’s default archive format, but the software also supports ZIP and 7Z formats. With the new version, the bus length has been increased to 2048 characters. This length was 260 in earlier versions.
Another change to WinRAR was a very useful innovation. From now on, if the archive name no longer fits on the screen, the extension of the archive file will continue to appear in all cases. Previously, extension names did not appear when the name of the archive was long.
With WinRAR 5.80, users can easily specify archive names. If two files with the same name but extensions (readme.txt and readme.css) are added to the archive, WinRAR will suggest that the archive name be the same as the two file names (readme.rar).
