In the old design, you had to scroll down to the bottom for comments on the video. Now, the comment section is located just below the subscribe button and notification buttons. In this section, you will see the total number of comments on the video and the top comment.
Another innovation in the design is about the next videos. Now when you open a video, the videos in the queue will be listed below almost as a full-width thumbnail. Next and autoplay sections are now in the left and right corners under the comments.
On the other hand, the next content is not just videos. In addition to YouTube Mixes, updates, polls, images and GIFs from creators will be lined up one after another. As I said above, underlying YouTube’s design change lies in enabling users to watch and discover much more content.
